Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana (MKSY), launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, stands as a revolutionary welfare scheme. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this scheme aims to bring economic support, educational encouragement, and social upliftment to girls from birth till graduation.

Objective-"To eliminate negative thinking about the birth of a girl child and to empower girls by supporting their education and health."

This is done by providing financial assistance in 6 stages of a girl’s life – from birth to post-graduation.

अजय मोहन सिंह बिष्ट का जन्म 5 जून 1972 को पंचूर, गढ़वाल (अब उत्तराखंड) में हुआ था। उनके पिता एक वन रेंजर थे। उन्होंने गणित में बीएससी की डिग्री हासिल की और फिर 1990 के दशक की शुरुआत में अयोध्या राम जन्मभूमि आंदोलन में शामिल हो गए। वे महंत अवैद्यनाथ के शिष्य बने और बाद में गोरखपुर में गोरखनाथ मठ के प्रमुख बने।

Launched in 2010 during the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit by leaders from 13 tiger‑range countries, it aimed to address the dramatic loss of tigers in the wild.

Officially celebrated every year on 29 July, also known as Global Tiger Day.

The theme for this year is -Securing the future of Tigers with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities at the heart.

Importance of Tigers in Ecosystems & Humanity
 -Tigers are apex predators and umbrella species—protecting them helps preserve broader forest health, clean water systems, and biodiversity, benefiting countless species including humans.

India now hosts about 75% of the world’s wild tigers (Approx 3700), thanks to conservation efforts like Project Tiger started in 1973, strong habitat protection, anti‑poaching, and community engagement. Uttarakhand marked International Tiger Day in 2025 with induction of 80 Agniveers into its Tiger Protection Force, plus massive tree planting and anti‑plastic campaigns in Corbett and Rajaji reserves. Kaziranga Tiger Reserve (Assam) achieved the world’s third‑highest tiger density — 148 tigers counted in 2024—thanks to habitat expansion and modern monitoring tech like drones and camera traps.

Madhya Pradesh has the highest tiger population in India, with 785 tigers according to the latest estimates.

They also launched 'Indus Innovation', an innovation bridge built upon the successful Indus-X platform for defense applications, with the goal of focusing on space, energy, and other emerging technologies.
